Brand1st · Brand operating system
Before you hire a designer. Before you brief a web developer.
Decide your brand before you pay anyone to design it.
The brand strategy you do before you hire a designer. Five stages of decisions, locked one at a time, ending in a finished Brand Master and the briefs your suppliers need.
If your website could belong to any competitor, the problem isn’t the website.
You brief a designer, a copywriter or an agency from your head. They ask who you’re for and what makes you different. You give them a rough answer and they fill the gaps.
You pay for the guessing: revision rounds, copy that sounds like everyone else, a site that looks good and says nothing, and a rebrand a couple of years later.
The decisions are made before the meter starts. You hand your next supplier a Brand Master and a brief, not a vague idea, and they build on it.
It isn’t another brand course. It’s skipping the thinking and paying someone else to guess.
The difference between a brief and a guess.
Every answer you lock is checked for the vague words every competitor uses. Brand1st shows you a generic answer next to a sharp one, from your own industry, while you write.
We offer high-quality care and a great patient experience.
A written price for every treatment before it starts, and we hold it.
Specific, provable, and not something your three competitors claim.
Quality Care You Can Trust.
Move like you used to.
Clear, has tension, says one thing.
Stress-free healthcare solutions.
Back to running in six weeks, without a stack of scans you didn’t need.
A real outcome. A real pain, named.
The Brand Master. About 25 designed pages, built from your own decisions.
Six sections: Brand Substance, Our Customer, Our Position, Our Brand Persona, Our Message and Our Language. Typeset in one of 12 editions matched to your brand’s archetype, with your business name on the cover. Print it or save it as a PDF in one click.

Open the full sample Brand Master, all 25 pages. Northside Physio is a fictional business; yours is built from your answers.
It lives in the app, not in a folder somewhere.
- Change a decision and your Brand Master updates.
- Every version is dated, so you can go back to any of them.
- Open it on any device you sign in on.
- Print it or save it as a PDF in one click, whenever a supplier needs it.
And four briefs, written for the people you hire next.
Built from your locked answers, with a short project details panel for deadline, budget and scope.
Web design brief
Your customer, position, persona, tone and key messages, ready for a site build.
Creative agency brief
The whole visual identity: logo, colour, type, imagery and guidelines, with design direction from your archetypes.
Copywriting brief
Tone of Voice, vocabulary, core messages, tagline, hook and pitch, so the copy is right first time.
The AI Brief
Your brand as context for ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, plus tested prompts for your home page, About page, bios, ads and emails.
A system you move through, not lessons you watch.
Each stage ends in decisions you lock in. Locking a stage opens the next. Everything you lock carries forward, so nothing is typed twice.
A decision tool in every stage
Score your competitors’ gaps, pick your archetypes, build your positioning from a live template. Never a blank box and a prompt.
Sharpness checks
Every answer you lock is checked for the vague words every competitor uses, with generic and sharp examples from your industry. They prompt; they never block.
Your Brand Master builds as you go
A live preview fills in beside each stage, so you can see the document taking shape.
Saves as you type
Every answer saves to your account, on any device. Stop whenever you like; your dashboard takes you back to the exact step.
Unlock and change anything
Reopen any stage, change a decision and lock it in again. Your Brand Master keeps dated versions.
Tailored to where you are
Examples match your industry. Not launched yet? The wording adapts; the method doesn’t.
| Option | Typical cost | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Brief a designer from your head | $0 upfront | Revisions and guesswork, paid for at their hourly rate. |
| An agency brand strategy | $12,000–$25,0001 | Workshops and a strategy document, over weeks. |
| A workbook or free template | Free–$150 | Blank prompts. Rarely finished, never something a supplier can use. |
| ChatGPT | Free, or a monthly plan | Fluent words built on guesses about who you serve. Brand1st decides; the AI Brief makes your AI tools write from those decisions. |
| Brand1st | $397 founding | Your decisions, locked in 4–6 focused hours, in a designed Brand Master and four briefs. |
1 Typical range for brand strategy from an Australian agency, published by Anchor Digital. Brand1st doesn’t replace an agency’s visual design work; it does the decisions that come before it.
- You run a business, or you’re about to launch one, and you make the brand decisions.
- You’re about to spend on a website, a rebrand, a logo, ads or a new hire.
- You want to decide, not learn theory.
- An agency strategy isn’t in the budget, and guessing is costing you.
- You don’t have an offer or a customer in mind yet.
- You already have a current, agency-built brand strategy.
- You want someone to do it for you. That’s a different service (see the FAQ).
- You want a logo or a colour palette. Brand1st briefs those; it doesn’t design them.
I’m Nate. I’ve worked as a brand designer for over a decade, and most of the businesses I’ve designed for arrived with the same brief: make us look good.
Nobody had decided who they were for, what they stood for or why anyone should choose them. So the designer guessed, the business paid for the guessing, and the work was only ever as good as the guess.
Brand1st is the process I run before any design starts, built into a system you can run yourself.
You lock in decisions. We lock in the promise.
Three locks, each removing a different reason not to start.
Clarity in 14 days
Lock in Stages 01 and 02 within 14 days. If you don’t see your brand and your customer more clearly than the day you bought, email me. Full refund.
A Brand Master you’d hand over

No lost work

Why there’s a founding price
Brand1st is new. The first 25 members are its proof. In return for the founding price, you agree to three things: aim to lock in all five stages within 30 days, send a short testimonial, and let me publish your Brand Master, or parts of it, as an example. You see anything before it’s published.
The founding price ends when the 25 spots are taken or on 31 March 2027, whichever comes first. Then it’s $997. No extensions.
How long does it take?
4–6 focused hours across the five stages. Most people do it in two or three sittings. Every answer saves as you type, so you can stop at any point and pick up on any device.
Is this a course?
No. There are no videos to watch and nothing to study. Each stage asks you to make a set of decisions and lock them in. The output is your Brand Master, not a certificate.
I’m not a writer. Will I get stuck?
Each stage gives you a template or a tool to work from: scoring tables, pickers, live drafts built from your earlier answers. Sharpness checks flag vague wording and show generic and sharp examples from your industry. You don’t need to write well; you need to decide.
I haven’t launched yet. Does it still work?
Yes. Tell the intake you haven’t launched and the wording adapts: the customers you’re building for, your first hire, what you’ll deliver from day one. The five stages and the Brand Master stay the same. Brand1st doesn’t name businesses, so start with your business name or a working name.
How do I give it to my designer or copywriter?
Open your Brand Master or one of the four briefs and save it as a PDF, then send it. Each brief has a short project details panel for deadline, budget and scope.
Does it design my logo or colours?
No. Brand1st makes the decisions a visual identity should be built on, then writes the brief for the designer or agency who creates it. That keeps the design work in the hands of someone you choose, working from a proper brief.
What does “lifetime access” mean?
Access to the five stages, your Brand Master and the four briefs, including updates to them, for as long as Brand1st operates. If Brand1st ever closes, you’ll get at least 60 days’ notice to save everything as PDFs. New products or services we offer later aren’t included. The detail.
What if it’s not for me?
The Triple Lock Guarantee covers you: clarity in 14 days, a Brand Master you’d hand a designer in 30, and no lost work. It sits on top of your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Full terms.
Does Brand1st use AI on my answers?
No. Nothing you write is sent to an AI. The AI Brief is a set of prompts built from your Brand Master that you can paste into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini yourself, if you choose to.
Who can see my answers?
They’re saved privately to your account. They’re never sold or shared for marketing. Founding members agree that Brand1st can publish their Brand Master, or parts of it, as an example, and they see anything before it’s published. Privacy policy.
Can I work with you directly instead?
Not yet. A done-with-you service is planned for later, with limited places. Members who lock in all five stages get first access and member pricing when it opens.

When you lock in Stage 05
One differentiator. One customer. Every word decided.
Then brief your next supplier with a Brand Master instead of a guess.
